I’m exhausted from such a busy week!

This last week has been an exhausting one. I’m tired just thinking about it, so I’m not sure how mom is handling it!

First of all, mom and dad told me that this was a special week, because it was Canada Day. Mom says that this is a day to celebrate Canada as a country, but that a lot of people just use it as an extra day off work. I’m not sure about that, but I do know that mom and dad used their day off to it’s fullest. After taking the opportunity to sleep in–which mom doesn’t get a chance to do much anymore–they went to a Blue Jays game. I have a feeling that it’s kind of like a TFC game, but a little less rowdy. There was a lot of clapping and woohooing happening, but not nearly as much chanting and cheering. I think that both the Blue Jays and TFC games seem like a lot of fun, so I hope that I’ll get to go to some when I come out!

After the game, mom and dad went out to watch some World Cup footy. If I thought that I would be able to get some peace and quiet during this game, boy was I wrong! It seems that the whole place was yelling and cheering–almost as loud as at the Blue Jays game! Luckily, that game didn’t last as long as the Blue Jays game. And even luckier, after the game, mom and dad came home for a little bit to rest.

I know that mom used this time to sit back with her feet up, and since I had been awake all day because of the noise I enjoyed the rest time, too. I even got a bit of a nap in! But, it didn’t last long, because mom and dad went out to see what the call fireworks. I’m not sure what they look like, but they sure are loud. All could hear was “pop, pop, pop” over and over again. The first one startled me and I kicked hard, but when mom put her hand over my kick, it made me feel safe. As I continued to listen to the fireworks, the less they scared me, and the noise almost became soothing–not enough to make me go back to sleep, but enough to keep me still for a while.

Believe it or not, that was only one day of the week! Now, you can see why I’m so tired. I haven’t even talked about the other Blue Jays game or the visit from Nany and Papa…I guess you’ll just have to wait until next time!

33 weeks and counting!

Mom says that I am 33 weeks now and only have seven more weeks to go inside here! I can’t believe how fast time has flown and that I am going to be coming out soon. I’m so excited to finally get to meet mom and dad! Being 33 weeks means that I am getting really big to prepare myself for the arrival. In fact, this week, mom says that I am the size of a honeydew melon–you know, those yummy green melons that mom says are especially tasty now that it’s getting so hot out.

As I grow, I’m finding that I have less space in here. Now, when I try to move and kick, it seems that more often than not, I’m hitting something hard–I even sometimes hurt myself! I think that mom is really starting to feel my kicks, too. Sometimes I can feel her pushing back on me when I’m kicking. I’m not sure what she’s trying to do, but I like that we can communicate to each other this way.

I’ve also noticed that her, dad and even my fur-sister are starting to talk to me more and more. I like when they talk to me, it makes me feel like the transition between being in here and being out there will go much smoother. Although, I’m still not sure what my fur-sister is going to think of me on the outside. I’m going to try my best to be good to her, but I keep hearing mom and dad warning her that soon she isn’t going to be the only baby anymore, so she’ll have to learn to share the love. I can’t wait to meet and play with her!
